Post blocked due to more than 5 links, when only 2 were given

It seems this forum expands links to Stack Overflow pages into a fancy form which ends up including 4 links each.

The “new user rule” obviously runs after this expansion. Should it run prior to expansion, or somehow take the expansion into account?

Hi Luke,

Thanks for letting us know. I have changed the setting to allow new users more links such that they can include the equivalent of 2 Stack Overflow posts and 1 additional link.
