Changes to the process for submitting Gradle issues

Hi everyone,

Several months ago we posted about changes we would like to make with regard to how we create and track (see post here) issues. The rationale behind this is outlined in this post.

We are going to go ahead with this change.

What this means is that it will no longer be possible to raise issues in issues.gradle.org directly. Instead, all problems will be raised here (i.e. forums.gradle.org) and then the admins of forums.gradle.org will promote the issue to issues.gradle.org. When the issue is promoted, a link to the issue will be posted on here which can be used to subscribe to notifications for the issue. The issue tracker will not be private. You will still be able to view, vote on and comment on any issues that impact you.

If you have any concerns regarding this change, please reply to this message in the next few days so that they can be discussed.

We are intending to make this change at the end of this week.

This change has now happened. It is no longer to enter tickets directly into JIRA.
