The Gradle User Guide PDF at http://www.gradle.org/docs/current/userguide/userguide.pdf has a persistent flaw in many of its code samples. The PDF displays code samples in about a 60 character window, but many of these code samples are much wider than 60 characters, so they are truncated in the PDF display. If this is printed, that information is just gone. If someone is reading this online, and they’re devious, they can copy the text from the code sample into an external editor, and then all the code will show up, but that’s a pretty nasty hack. Make this information more accessible by formatting those code samples to display properly.
Raised GRADLE-3059. Thanks for the report.
