I keep getting the error when I try build my first project in android studio:
Plugin [id: 'com.android.application'] was not found in any of the following sources:
- Gradle Core Plugins (plugin is not in 'org.gradle' namespace)
- Plugin Repositories (plugin dependency must include a version number for this source)
I’m working on my company desktop and maybe it has blocked the download somehow?
Any help is appreciated
You did not show the full error.
After what you showed it should show where he looked for the dependency.
Make sure you did not fall into this trap: https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/IDEA-226613/Gradle-build-on-failed-build-IDE-auto-focuses-and-shows-incomplete-error-message-which-makes-it-hard-to-understand-why-build
And if there were failed download tries you would see them before, maybe you need to use
--debug for that.
And maybe for it to retry you might need to use
--refresh-dependencies or Gradle might remember it did not find the dependency in a specific repository.
Whether something is blocked at your company desktop, or whether you for example need to configure a proxy, you should probably ask your IT department.
