If you are using Gradle to build with Intellij IDEA then you might have noticed already that references to source code files in Gradle compiler output are not clickable (as one would expect from an IDE). So I have requested this feature from Intellij.
Please vote for this ticket on their issue tracker here:

If enough of us vote for this ticket, Intellij will implement that feature into IDEA. Which would be awesome
