The Gradle team is pleased to announce the availability of the first release candidate for Gradle 2.7.

IMPORTANT A performance regression was introduced in the Gradle wrapper in Gradle 2.6. If you generated your wrapper with 2.6, we recommend that you regenerate your wrapper with 2.7. If you generated your wrapper with a older version, you can still configure that wrapper to point to Gradle 2.6 without issue.

This release adds preemptive authentication for HTTP repositories.

We’ve also added test isolation to the Gradle TestKit, so tests are performed in an isolated “working space” in order to prevent builds under test inheriting any environmental configuration from the current user.

Play support has had some minor updates to support Play 2.4’s injected routes generator and displaying build failures in the browser when running in --continuous build.

Please see the release notes for detailed information.

Downloads and wrapper usage instructions are available at http://gradle.org/release-candidate. Please try Gradle 2.7-rc-1 with your projects and report any problems.
