My project could benefit from Jigsaw quite significantly, so I’m investigating what it will take to modularise it.
So far it seems that Gradle’s support for Jigsaw has stalled. There was work done last year, and a guide on how to do it, but it’s clear that the built in plugins don’t really support it. And it appears, that no more work is being done on modular Java at this time. The latest 4.6 release has many new features but none of them are related to modularity.
It’s fine if the Gradle team have decided that there’s no demand for modularity, or burned out on Java 9 last year or whatever else is driving this, but it’d be good to know so I can incorporate it into my own planning.
