[Gradle-771] importing Ant build.xml - "a task with that name already exists."

Inspired by Kapitan’s workaround I decided to have a go at a simple solution to GRADLE-771. My changes are now forked on github here. Though not perfect, this solution is functional and has a few unit/integration tests to accompany it. Can anyone help make suggestions/corrections?
