Can we invoke Gradle on own process so the IDE does not block
What kind of IDE/plugins/gradle combo are you using? I’m guessing it’s the STS gradle plugin? In that case touch base with the STS team and offer that feature request.

Yes it is STS. IDE freezes when there multiple projects. How do I get in touch with them?
Take a look at the documentation of the STS plugin you use / the pages where you downloaded the plugin from (or ask google :).
